COVID 19 Safety Plan
Stonewall Alliance of Chico is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for staff, interns, volunteers, and community members. Recognizing that COVID-19 impacts individuals and communities differently, this policy reflects current public health recommendations while centering accessibility, respect, and collective responsibility. Our commitment to community care means staff and volunteers are expected to support one another and the broader community by acting in alignment with these values.
Masking
Masks are strongly encouraged for those who feel most comfortable wearing them.
- Masks are not required indoors or outdoors.
- Free masks are provided in multiple spaces in our office and at all Stonewall events.
- When entering a shared space or room where someone is masked, we ask others in that space to also wear a mask out of respect.
Staff and interns will wear masks during appointments if requested by clients.
Testing, Symptoms, and Isolation
If staff or volunteers have any symptoms observed, they will be requested to test for COVID-19 by management.
- Even with a negative test, masking is recommended until symptoms resolve.
- If positive, individuals must remain out for 3 days from the date of the positive test.
Anyone with symptoms should remain at home until they receive a negative test result.
Definition of Symptoms:
COVID-19 symptoms include (but are not limited to): fever of 100.4°F or higher, chills, cough, shortness of breath, fatigue, muscle or body aches, headache, new loss of taste or smell, sore throat, congestion or runny nose, nausea, vomiting, or diarrhea.
Vaccination
Staff and volunteers are encouraged to remain vaccinated and boosted as vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent severe illness and hospitalization.
